Meet The Curators
Ainsley Hamill
Ainsley Hamill is a critically acclaimed Scottish singer, songwriter, cultural curator and award-winning performer, praised for her rich, emotive voice and evocative storytelling. Singing in Gaelic, Scots and English, Ainsley crafts spellbinding performances that blend heritage and innovation, tradition and bold contemporary artistry.
Her recent album Fable explores Scottish folklore and identity through powerful original compositions. Folk Radio UK hailed it as “a bold and atmospheric triumph.” Ainsley’s debut solo release Not Just Ship Land also received wide critical acclaim, described by The Guardian as their album of the month “her voice thick with velvet and mirk… hovering between the comforting warmth of The Breath and the whip-smart forlornness of early Adele.”
She has been recognised as “one of the best of her generation” by RnR Magazine, and regularly performs across the UK and internationally, including for global brands, embassies, government departments and major cultural festivals. In 2023 she represented Scotland as part of the UK’s cultural programme for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ainsley’s shows are known for their atmosphere, clarity of vision and emotional resonance. To experience her live is to witness the heart of Scottish tradition made vivid, accessible and moving.

Her work has been featured by leading UK broadcasters and cultural bodies, and she has led pioneering arts interventions for the NHS, national charities, and international NGOs.

She has delivered programmes and performances in settings as diverse as the Houses of Parliament, UNHCR events, high-profile brand activations, and intimate theatre stages. Her work consistently bridges heritage and innovation, and she is frequently called upon to deliver work that is socially conscious and artistically ambitious.
